It is part of the District Executive's job to help make sure that every church and possible charter organization in our District has a Scouting unit at it. If your church or organization does not, or does not have a full Family of Scouting (Pack, Troop, Crew) then please contact Ryan Newcomb if you would be interested or could direct him towards the pastor of your Church. He will take any help he can get on this level. Please let us know of any help you can give. Many of our Packs do not have Troops to feed into, and vice-versa. We have a TON of room to grow, and with your help, we can do just that. If you would like to be involved in anyway in the development of new units, please contact him, as well.
The DE would like to give a special note of thanks for making this year's Friends of Scouting Campaign a Success. After some Clean up work, we made it--and a special thanks to Alan Buchanan and our Finance Team for that. This is so essential to funding our programs, operating the council and our many facilities, camps, and running Scouting in North Texas.
Each unit needs to put this IMPORTANT date on the schedule, and have two representatives from your unit attend popcorn training! If you do that, your unit is entered into a drawing that will give away a brand new TRAILER for one unit in the council who attends the training.
Please fill out the attached 2009 Plan Letter and return them to Ryan Newcomb with your comments and plans for 2009 Unit Growth. We are a competitive District, and aim to end this year higher than when we started! Also attached is a Schools & Scouting Powerpoint Presentation that would be great to send to or show to your School's principals and teachers regarding Scouting in our area.
